Techinical Museum of Vienna

Last weekend we went back to Vienna, just because we could. I love how close it is and it doesn’t take a major production to go, we can just decide that morning.

First of all, there are about a bazillion museums in Vienna. The Technical Museum and House of Music were the first on our list of museums to visit. It took a little longer getting there, and the technical museum is gigantic, so we didn’t have time to go to the House of Music. Next time.

It was kinda drizzly, but not enough to ruin the day. The museum is 4-5 floors, each with a north and south wing. Huge. They had some very random collections there. Mostly is was a history of anything technical: cars, bicycles, musical instruments, games, TV’s, computers, calculators, medical equipment, phones, printing presses, trains, food packing industry, airplanes, mining equipment, light bulbs, prosthetic limbs, irons, washing machines, toilets…  I mean it went on and on. There weren’t as many hands-on displays as we (Benjam) would have liked, but it was a pretty neat place to spend a Saturday. Afterward, we went to the park across the street for a late lunch and were home by 7!

  1. Don would love that one – Wow Skye’s hair is really curly. It really looked like an amazing museum. HHMMMM maybe we should check ticket prices again.
