it’s about time

wow…   i can’t believe the semester is actually over. it’s so nice to not have to do anything…   i can sit around, lay in bed, watch tv, stay up late, eat whatever i want, wait…   i could do that before, but now i can do it whenever i want, i don’t have to wait till class is over.

i have three finals next week. but i don’t think any of them will be really hard, i mean, all three of them are open book/open notes, and one of them is like four problems long… in two hours?!? and i know what you may be thinking…  those four problems are gonna be HARD!   nope   they’re not. its gonna be easy, and then one of the other ones is online, but that class was pretty time intensive. i just spent the better part of a week working on the final project and i’m not talkin like when i had free time all week, i’m talkin like for 10hrs a day all week, as well as going to school and sleeping and eating. it was tough but it turned out pretty good. the third final has me a little worried, but not too bad, besides if i do good on the final, the grade comes off of it completely, and if not, then the other tests are figured into the grade as well, nice, huh?

so now i’m at work, and when i get home i’m prolly gonna clean my room cuz my girlie is complaining that it’s dirty. next week, i’ll be workin at all three of my jobs, as well as trying to figure out what classes to take next semester, and prolly start thinking about what i’m gonna be gettin peeps for chrismukah (and no, i don’t watch the o.c.,  i just happened to be laying there last night while my girl was watchin it).  then i’ll be workin at egi pretty much the whole christmas break trying to get money so i can buy those presents, and that’s about it…

i miss school.

school is catchin up

i just remembered like 20 min ago that i have a lab that is due tomorrow, (it shoulda been done two weeks ago), along with the lab that i have to do tomorrow, on top of that i took a math test today, which i got at most 3 out of 8 correct. my boss at egi is askin about these figures that i’m supposed to have drawn by tomorrow, and my bosses at paulsen are asking if i can come in tomorrow to work…

that’s a lot of stuff for one day:

  • do the lab that’s due tomorrow
  • work on egi stuff
  • work at paulsen
  • and go to lab

wow…   kate pointed out to me in my guestbook that i haven’t posted in a while, so i looked at the calendar today and noticed that it has been a really long while.

it has been that way because i’m pretty busy with school and what little work i do do. it kinda sucks because i don’t have the internet at home, although i’m supposed to be able to post blog entries from my phone’s text messaging, i can’t, because of some errors i get when i run the script that does it, so i can’t post unless i’m at work or school, in which case i’m usually rushing to get to lab so i can work on the assignment, or i forget, etc. anywho…

we went to a halloween rave on sat night, it was pretty dope, they played lots of breaks, which is okay, when they play the right kind of breaks, which they did, so it was good. aaron carter of cirrus and loki went OFF!  they were throwing down some of the phattest breaks tracks i’ve ever heard, so i went up to aaron carter after his set and gave him props and he gave me a cd, which is cool, and i was all excited to listen to it, but then i threw it in on my way to school, and got all bummed, cuz it has no energy at all. just a nice monotonous energy that never goes up or down (but i guess when you start with no energy, you can’t go down  =/ ).  don’t get me wrong, he’s a good dj…   live. but the cd leaves something to be desired.

so now i’m at school, workin in the library trying to get my optics homework done before class that i haven’t even started yet, so i can go to lab and work on that assignment that i haven’t even started yet either…    so you see now why i haven’t posted in a while. but that’s it for now.

oh, and i tweaked my ankle again on saturday, which sucked, couldn’t play airsoft all day. bummer.

btw, i checked the ip address for ‘kate’ and it came up as a salt lake address, but kate put canada as her address, which makes me wonder about kate’s identity…
so…   who is ‘kate’?

school… again

sometimes it seems like my school career is never going to end, then when i finally get a break between semesters…  like a week later…    it’s back to school again!  oh well. i finally get to go to the u, which is cool. had my first day yesterday…   INSANE!  there are so many people there, and i had classes from 8:30 in the morning until like 6:00 that night, not afternoon, night!  and in between classes i had to get all my stuff like financial aid, get my u-card, etc., done so i had no time to sit and relax, but it’ll get better, cuz i have like an hour between classes that i can normally fill with either being lazy and doing nothing or gettin some homework done for that class. but i rode my bike to school yesterday, and found out later that i took the really hard way there, with all these huge hills and stuff. but i found out where the easy way is from my experienced girlfriend (who is also goin to the u).  but that’s about all i have to say right now. prolly have more on how hard the classes are (i’m takin like 13-17 hrs this semester, depending on whether or not i continue to take a class that was recommended to me), how much the teachers suck, etc., later, so…

this weekend… again

wow this last weekend was frickin busy!  i took my last two tests on thursday for the semester, and am now graduated from slcc with an a.s. degree in physics!

then on friday we went to lagoon (a sorta wanna-be amusement park here in utah) for my dad’s work party, had all sortsa fun there. i went swimming in the waterpark there with my little brother and sister. then when my girl finally showed up, we went and had dinner, then rode on some crazy ass new ride they have that scares the SHIT out of you! (plus some others ;) ) and we finally left there about 11 pm, got home and fell asleep around midnight.

woke up the next morning at 6 to drive my ass down to sanpete for a golf tournament that was at a really nice course down there. but on the way, as i was just leaving home, i saw the most awesome, inspirational sunrise i think i’ve ever seen or will ever see again. its not describable in words, so i’m not gonna try, but trust me, it was cool.

when i finally got to the golf course at around 9 (after a 2 hour drive) we started to play, and i have to tell you, this course is amazing for being in the middle of the desert on the side of a mountain. nice greens and fairways and the grass was amazingly green and soft. but the cool part was on the 5th hole, i came within an inch of hittin my first eagle. the ball had hit the hole and bounced out on my second shot, but i putted it in for a birdie… my first ever!  and the hole before that was on a cliff face that was pretty much a tee box, cliff, then green. so it was not forgiving at all, but the opportunity was too great and i pulled out my driver and whacked a ball off into the canyon.  =)

then the golf tournament was over and we headed back up to spring city to go to a lamb roast that my boss was having there, and ate some good food, and left around 3 in the afternoon for the nice long drive back home.

but when we got there, the weekend wasn’t over…  we left for park city to meet up with my girls parents to go up into the uintahs to camp for the night, but the fire danger is so high that there are signs everywhere that say no campfires allowed, but when we got to the campsite, my girlie’s sister and her friend had started a fire, and were sittin around it all warm and stuff. so we told them, and they ignored us, and a little while later, just as my hotdog was finishin up, some rangers came around and told us that it was a $100 fine for EACH person that was in the campsite with the fire. they let us off with a warning thankfully, but we had no fire the rest of the night. so we played some cards then went to bed.

when we woke up in the morning, we headed for the provo river falls not too far from where we were, checked them out, then headed home after an hour or so of hiking around.

when we finally got home, we ordered some pizza, rented a few movies and chilled the rest of the night.

and now i’m back at slcc for the last time, finishing up all the things i need to do to transfer to the u and the crazy busy weekend is over.

so…    that’s it.

stupid forum

every time i get just about done upgrading my board with various mods, images, goodies, etc. the peeps over at invision services come out with a new update to the codes, so i have to go through and re-install just about everything on the board. kind of annoying, and i know i don’t have to do it, but i’ve always gotta have the best stuff for my friends to use. so right now, i’m currently workin on gettin my forums workin the way they were before this update, and also gettin all of my links on the whole site updated to reflect the addition of my new photo gallery area which can be found here: http://www.iohelix.net/photos or in the links on the right side of this page.

i still can’t decide what template to use on the photos page, but oh well, i guess that’s life, and i have more important things to worry about, such as finals coming up, a take home test i should be doing, registering for the U which starts in like 20 days (3 weeks), and trying to keep my money problems under control.

but its nice to get away from all of that stuff for a while and just get immersed into the computer and workin on stuff that gives me a real sense of accomplishment,  so…   gonna go get myself a sense of accomplishment!  =)

yay stress >(

i had a pretty big test today in Philosophy, so i was up all night studying, and while i was walkin around, just killin time, because i needed a break from aristotle, the Buddha, and tryin to fix the stupid water sprinkler, i walked in the garage and noticed that there was a garage door open and a car halfway stickin out of it so i couldn’t close it.

i told my roommate (thats kinda wierd, i have a roommate) to pull in his car so that I could close his garage. it was like 12 midnight, not an unreasonable request…  he tells me he’s gonna do it, and yet, an hour later (1 o’clock for those of you not keeping track) his car is still pokin out of the garage and the door still isn’t shut.

i go downstairs to see what the fuh, and he tells me he’s leaving, so i told him to either leave quick or pull his car in or he’s gonna hafta buy new whatever was stolen. he gets all huffy and says ‘fine, i’ll pay for whatever gets stolen’ and i leave, somewhat satisfied. about a half an hour later, my girlfriend comes in and tells me that he (the roommate) just walked in on some drunk guy tryin to steal my girlies bike!  he feels pretty bad about it, but i have to be sure this guy isn’t passed out in the back yard or something, so i go back there, and while i’m playing vigilante through the neighborhood, the wind catches the front door (mostly glass) and slams it shut, breaking the window.
