Recap: got in trouble, community service at Hansen Planetarium.
So I finished the portion of my community service that I could do at the planetarium (there was a rule that said you couldn’t do them all in one place, or something like that), and had a few hours left, so I helped out the Forest Service. A few months later, after I was done with that, I went back to the planetarium, and asked my boss there if I could have a job, and they agreed and hired me on the spot. So I was working at the planetarium, hanging out, and met a girl.
Well… there were a few girls there, some taken, some not my type, and one who was wearing cargo pants, and I could see her calves through her pants (in case you’re wondering… yes, that’s hot!). I could see her calves, because as a guide, I wasn’t a cashier, and couldn’t run the tills, and I wasn’t a lecturer, and couldn’t run the shows, so I had a lot of time, as we all (the guides) did. So we spent a lot of our time sitting on the floor behind the desk, talking, hanging out, what have you. And so I was sitting on the floor, and noticed one of the lecturers calves through her cargo pants, and thought “Hmmm… I might have to turn on the charm for this one…”, so I did.
After the last show, while everyone was getting ready to go home (it was a Thursday or Friday, around 11 or 12, I can’t remember exactly), we (the hot girl and I) were sitting in front of the globe, and I asked her if she’d like to come dancing with me and a couple of my friends. She shockingly agreed, and we left to go to my friends house, ended up hanging out there most of the night, didn’t go clubbing, but ended up outside, standing next to her car, talking for most the night.
A few days later I found out her name: Chelsea.
Just kidding, it wasn’t a few days later. I knew her name. Anywho… we were both dating other people, just having fun, but then a few months went by, we were still seeing each other, and one day I just looked at her, and felt a feeling that kind of took me by surprise. I wasn’t looking for a monogamous girlfriend, didn’t have any opposition to it, but certainly wasn’t looking, and then there she was. The only girl I wanted to be with. Just hit me like “Hey, who are you, and what are you doing in my heart?”
Apparently she felt the same way, and now here it is 11 years later…
So for those of you who skipped some chapters, or those of you who forgot, here is a summary of the events that transpired to bring me to her:
- Skipped a grade from 1st to 2nd grade
- Moved to Magna (yes, I like the water)
- Met Angel and Jose (neighbors)
- Discovered space and science
- Jose introduced me to techno
- Techno introduced me to my partners in crime
- My partners in crime introduced me to raves
- Raves introduced me to the best friends a guy could ask for (incl. Angie)
- My partners in crime introduced me to… crime
- Crime got me community service
- Angie hooked me up with community service at the planetarium
- I met my future wife at the planetarium
- Skyeberry
So… there it is, long, and a bit convoluted, but I never would have imagined in a million years that my skipping a grade, love of techno, or minor stint in crime would lead me to my future wife. And now that it has, I’m glad I did everything I’ve ever done, because it has brought me the two most amazing girls you’ll ever meet.
I love you, Chelsea and Skye.
Happy Anniversary (it was on 11/11 that we met, 11 years ago)
Nicely put man. It doesn’t seem like 11 years already. Time flies when you’re having fun eh?
Everything does happen for a reason. I can list several events that led me to Andy, most of which are not good, and I wouldn’t change any of them now for anything.
You two are perfect for each other though, and you will have at least 800 more years to come.
Cool story. That is really cool how you met 11 yrs ago on 11/11.
